CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The show has two stages (located at the very centre of Virtual Reality Show London) – these are a place to discover all that this incredible tech has to offer, and learn from some of the hottest names working in VR today. The Show Stages are open to all ticket holders. They will showcase a wide range of applications, with facts & figures, real-world case studies and product demonstrations that give attendees a unique insight into the latest cutting-edge developments… as well as a glimpse at what the future holds for VR technologies.

THURSDAY 20 APRIL — STAGE 01

11:10—11:40: UN & UNICEF VR PRESENTATION

Kristin Gutekunst (Executive Producer, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Campaign) and David Cravinho, (Global Fundraising Specialist UNICEF) will be sharing their work, exploring the use of immersive technologies in a variety of, perhaps unexpected, applications around the world. 11:45—12:25: MICROSOFT HOLOLENS BRAND PRESENTATION

12:35—13:20: NASA CASE STUDIES

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is using VR & AR to explore space, and our own planet, in ways that were never before possible. Scientists are planning activities for the Curiosity Mars rover while walking on a 3D reconstruction of the Martian surface. Mechanical engineers can preview full-scale holographic models of spacecraft before any parts are built. Astronauts aboard the International Space Station receive virtual assistance from experts on the ground. This presentation will discuss how JPL is using immersive technology to change how we conduct space exploration today, and look ahead to what’s coming next. READ MORE

13:30—14:20: IMMERSE UK / KTN FUNDING SESSION

THE KTN PUBLIC FUNDING SESSION will look at how, outside of VC’s and angel investors, UK businesses get their hands on funding and grants for R&D and innovation. This panel, chaired by Immerse UK, will look at publicly funded programmes, competitions and initiatives targeted at immersive technologies, which provide opportunities to develop ideas without sacrificing valuable equity or IP. This panel session will be followed by 1-2-1 sessions with panelists and KTN sector experts from areas such as defence, health and design, where businesses can find out more about the various AR and VR funding opportunities available in a multitude of industries. READ MORE

14:30—16:15 EDITORIAL CONFERENCE - LED BY VISUALISE

16:25—18:15 MILITARY CONFERENCE

THE VR MILITARY CONFERENCE will address the current uses and applications for VR tech in the modern military and will examine both the challenges and the wide variety of opportunities for VR businesses. There will be a strong focus on connecting to external industries and encouraging collaboration to bring non-defence businesses/tech into the defence industry. We’ll also be welcoming the UK Defence Solutions Centre, who will be presenting details of their current work with VR tech and addressing both the opportunities and the necessary strategies for commercialising your business to work in the defence sector. THURSDAY 20 APRIL — STAGE 02

11:20—14:15 MEDICAL CONFERENCE

THE VR MEDICAL CONFERENCE will investigate the current state of VR tech within medicine and healthcare, providing an overview of current applications, examining key case studies and exploring opportunities beyond treatment, into self-diagnosis and the integration of AI tech. Closing the conference, The VR Medical Panel will bring together a group of experts to expand on the days findings, to present additional data and opinion and to discuss and debate where they see opportunities for VR in the future of medicine. READ MORE

14:25—15:40 AUTOMOTIVE CONFERENCE

THE VR AUTOMOTIVE CONFERENCE addresses how VR is being used to completely revolutionise product development among major car manufacturers, allowing their teams to ‘experience’ design changes long before cars go into production.  In tandem with this, we’ll examine current strategies for selling cars to tech-savvy millennials and ask how VR experiences can engage customers in a way that standard advertising methods cannot. 15:50—17:40 CONSTRUCTION & ARCHITECTURE CONFERENCE

THE VR CONSTRUCTION & ARCHITECTURE CONFERENCE will present an accurate snapshot of this growing market, with case studies and presentations that address the current uses, both for selling standing properties and for drawing in investment and sales for future projects. Our speakers will address the opportunities and discuss the challenges of creating more accurate, functional and user-friendly VR experiences, allowing everyone from the architect, to the first-time buyer to harness the power of virtual reality within this sector.
