VR AUDIO CONFERENCE: FRIDAY 21 APRIL, 11:10 - 13:00

You can tell an entire story through sound.

The Audio Conference will examine the role of sound within the immersive experience, shedding light on an often-overlooked part of the workflow. From basic stereo through to binaural headphones and entire 7.1 surround-sound installations, there are a range of options that can be utilised to deepen the user’s connection with what they are seeing.

Our speakers will discuss the power of sound in narrative, the options for music, sound design and foley (and which to use when), and the importance of spatial positioning when creating a more ‘real’ environment for users. They will also explore audio as part of the VR development workflow, showing how it can influence the visual style and direct the narrative flow if addressed at an earlier stage of the process.

DAVE MARKS, Immersive Audio Solutions

Audio has powerful storytelling qualities and can draw a user more deeply into a visual experience, or if done badly, can suddenly pull them out. Exploring the power of sound in filmmaking, trailers and in the music we listen to, Dave Marks will deliver a guide to ‘music and sound for the non-musician’, leaving you better equipped to make the right sonic choices when creating your content.
